I got a few new plants from Chau Yeong! Correction, I bought them from him... They were so malnourished that I SIMPLY.MUST.SAVE.THEM! Didn't bother to add watermarks on them... Sooooo they are free to grab! Share the love <3!

| Drosera Binata. The mother plant and the babies that I just planted into the pot... 2 months ago I believe. The size is still meh but I've realised that if you gave them more sunlight, the stems are thicker and stronger. The sunlight also brought out more red pigmentation from the sundews but in return, the sundews grow smaller or shorter, depending on the type of drosera it is. If less sunlight is given, the sundew will be greener, longer/taller but flimsier and weaker stems. The tentacles of the sundews are also less reddish and... whiter? Gosh what's the word for it. Less colourisation? Anyway, a happy sundew is a sundew bathed in sunlight! *Sundew=drosera. |
 |
Drosera Intermedia "Cuba". Actually, they were so starved of sunpower, the main plant wilted... and died.
Managed to salvage a few babies of it. This variant of Intermedia is really small. But cute <3 |
 |
Nepenthes Gracilis! A nep commonly found in Malaysia...
Was only as tall as my palm when I received it. The power of love! <3 |
 |
Drosera Adelae. The main plant finally grew it's own babies from its own roots!
Ironically, the baby plant is even healthier than the main... |
 |
| An overall shot of all my plants. Well, this was taken before the new plants arrived... |
 |
Drosera Paradoxa. I thought it weird that there are new petioles sprouting out from the base...
Upon close inspection, it turns out to be a baby plant!
Apparently D. Paradoxas often clump at the base if conditions are favourable. (Yay) |
 |
Drosera Spatulata. It's shooting flower stalks like crazy!
When the seed pods are ready, I'll be harvesting like crazy too xD
Tch, I can't seem to get it to be super reddish...
Not the type of variant to have red pigmentation perhaps? |
 |
Dionaea Muscipula... Still that size but grown somewhat bigger.
It seems that the biggest a venus fly trap can grow is pretty much this size... Oh... (Disappointed) |
 |
Nepenthes Kuchingnesisensis. I mean Kuchingensis. Darn I mispelled it!
One of the new plants I got from Chau Yeong. Plant labels <3 |
 |
Instead of the usual elongated pitcher cups, this one has a fairly oval, rounded shape.
It actually looks cute! <3 |
 |
Sarracenia... Rubra ssp. Gulfensis. Or Leucophylla. Not sure.
These tubes growing from the crown functions the same as the nepenthes's pitcher cups.
These tubes can grow as high as Jin Hwen 100+cm ! (OMG don't kill me)
Urm... Around that height. This one is still a baby fledgling I guess...
He gave it to me as a bonus so I was like, oh okay. |
 |
Utricularia X! Never knew the sp. name and will never know...
Ran a google check just to find tons of utric sp. with yellow flowers. *poker face*
But anyway, THEY FLOWERED! That's what matters. I actually received another utric too.
Unknown sp. too but with purple flower... Also a bonus.
Sometimes I really love that guy HAHAHA xD |
 |
So you think those pots on the stools are the only plants I have?! Think See again! HAHAHA!
.... Actually, the very first plant from the right is the same Adelae you saw just now. *dodges rotten egg and vegetables* HEY! It's dying! It needs some medical away-from-the-sun treatment! |
 |
D. Indica, D.Paradoxa and... D. something... When I sowed the seeds, I didn't label them... I'm sorry... I'm sorry...
My Indica looks very sick. That is why it is at the sick/germinating bay. Will be slowly acclimating these babies so that one day, I can put it outside under the glaring sun! |
 |
| D. Capensis And next to it, D. Filiformis... Why thou art so sick? I'll nurse you back to health! |
 |
D. Filiformis. .....? You ask, where is it? Why, those long, lifeless and thin strands are it's leaves!
Even I have trouble trying to pre-focus on it.
I wanted to do some leaf cutting propagation since I heard it's very easy but what leaves can I cut? DX
Oh why do you torture these cuties, ex-owner of these plants! |
 |
These are what my mum grows. And she says I grow weeds... Ahem.
And of course, these are her favourite babies among many others! |
 |
Ooooh what's this?! It's D. Adelae baby sproutlings from the leaf cuttings I took about a month ago!
These are just part of it, I have more! ... Hopefully these will survive. Else, I'll commit seppuku.
Cos after the death of this mother plant that I took the leaves from, these are the only ones I left...
And for the first time ever, I KO-ed two pots of D. Adelae... |
The Grand List of New Plants!
N. Kuchingensis
S. Rubra ssp. gulfensis/Leucophylla
Utricularia Y
D. Filiformis
D. Indica
D. Capensis
... And the end! I've noticed that I THINK I may have succeeded in germinating D. Burmannii, an annual plant commonly found in Malaysia! Wheeee! Sob sob... A grandios return after that sad KO! T_T
I also want a Drosera Peltata <3 D. Venusta. D. Natalensis. D. Madagascariensis. D. Prolifera. Ahhh! <3
